Mr Monkey visits Knaresborough Castle, July 20th

"It's not quite as impressive as it used to be"

The guide led Mr Monkey up to King's Chamber on the first floor. Queen Philippa was given Knaresborough when she married Edward III, and she turned the castle into a royal summer residence. In the Kings's chamber, Mr Monkey admired what was left of the arch on the wall behind the dias where the king and queen would sit being regal, and the empty window which should have some splendid stained glass in it.
