Mr Monkey visits the Vasa Museum

"I think it would looked quite gaudy in real life"

Mr Monkey went up some more stairs and looked down on the stern of the Vasa. He was really impressed by the carvings which originally covered the whole of the ship, though many were pulled off in early salvage operations. Mr Monkey was surprised to find out that, when it set sail, the Vasa was brightly painted all over. For some reason, the museum hasn't repainted the whole of the Vasa, but they have put a little coloured panel on, just to give Mr Monkey a hint of what the Vasa would have looked like.
