Mr Monkey on the battlefield of Waterloo

"It'd help if the little squares were on those fields, too"

Mr Monkey examining the map atop the Lion Mound Mr Monkey looking toward Hougoumont farm

After checking the map that's been fixed to the railings that stop you falling off the Mound, Mr Monkey looked south towards the farm of Hougoumont. This is almost visible in the centre of the second picture. Jerome Napoleon was supposed to make a diversionary attack on Hougoumont, but got over involved. The British Guards inside defended the farm for nine hours, without any more than thirty French soldiers (who were killed) getting into the farm, and with no advantage to Napoleon.

You can read about the defence of Hougoumont at the Napoleon Series website.
