Mr Monkey on the battlefield of Waterloo

"It looks peaceful enough from up here now"

Atop the mound, Mr Monkey looked east across the the battlefield. He could just see the farmhouse of La Haie-Sainte, which rather blocked the advance of the French infantry of D'Erlon's corps. Somewhere down the road, hidden by the trees is the farm of La Belle Alliance, where Wellington and Blucher met at the end of the battle, and Caillou farm, Napoleon's headquarters. Of course, during the battle, all these fields were muddy from a night of rain, and there wasn't an 140 foot high mound to look from. Wellington might have found one quite useful.
