Mr Monkey visits the North Pier

"That's a Grade II listed pier, that is"

Mr Monkey ran down a set of steps onto the beach, to get a good view of the whole structure. Blackpool's first pier, it was designed by Eugenius Birch and first opened in 1863, lengthened in 1864 and 1867, and most of the buildings at the pier head were built in 1874. Of Blackpool's three piers, the North Pier was changed the least during the 20th century.
