Beside the lake, Mr Monkey found a group of Anoplotheriums lurking beneath some trees. Real Anoploteriums lived in the Tertiary period (around 50 million years ago), but these replicas were made in the 1850s and repaired a few years ago. A little further on, Mr Monkey found his first dinosaur, a Late Cretaceous Mosasaurus. It's lying in the water because when the replica was made they'd only found fossils of the creature's head, and had no idea what the rest of it looked like.
