Mr Monkey in Bristol, March 14th

"We're not going to any galleries today"

Mr Monkey looking at the Victoria Rooms of Bristol University Mr Monkey looking at the Royal West of England Academy gallery

Mr Monkey came to a junction. In front of him he could see the Victoria Rooms, which was opened as a cultural centre in 1842, but became part of the University in 1920. Across the road from the Victoria Rooms Mr Monkey saw the art gallery of the Royal West of England Academy. Built in 1858, this was the first art gallery in Bristol. Mr Monkey kept on walking, or, rather, his humans kept on carrying him.

You can read about the Academy at the RWA website.
