After examining the nave, Mr Monkey went down into the crypt beneath the church. The crypt had been forgotten for years, and was only found after the church was bombed in 1940. Mr Monkey shuddered when he saw the automatically locking iron coffin, intended to defeat grave robbers in the early 19th century.
