After touring the mines, Mr Monkey had a go at panning for minerals. He quickly found a nugget of gold*, but decided to stop. He's seen The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and knows the danger of gold fever. And he wanted to be home in time for tea, as well.
*or iron pyrites, depending on whether you ask Mr Monkey or his humans.
