Mr Monkey got Mr Rik to ask a nice lady working for the tram company to explain the rather unhelpful map provided in the official Beaufort guide*, then set off down Lippenslaan, the main street through the town. On the way he paused to look at the Knokke war memorial.
* Unhelpful in the sense that it didn't have all the street names, and didn't show any tram or rail lines. "Not a good map", as the De Lijn lady said.
