Mr Monkey on Peak Rail, 22nd July

"This is a really tiny train"

Mr Monkey waiting for the narrow gauge train to arrive Mr Monkey looking at a Class 47 diesel

Mr Monkey carefully crossed the railway lines at Rowsley South to a small platform beside a narrow gauge track. He'd been careful to make sure that the Derbyshire Dales Narrow Gauge Railway were running their small industrial engines on the day he travelled on Peak Rail. Soon a carriage with an ex-BR LBT at one end and a Ruston & Hornsby 48DL at the other chugged up and Mr Monkey swarmed aboard for a ride along to the Peak Rail stockyard. Mr Monkey peered out and spotted BR Class 47 No. 47635 lurking under some trees.

You can read about the DDNGR at the Peak Rail website and about the Class 47 diesel at the Class47.co.uk website.
