Mr Monkey at St Mary's Redcliffe, 14th May

"I always thought they kept copes in a wardrobe"

Mr Monkey ventured into the Lady Chapel. He was particularly impressed by the stained glass, designed by Harry Stammers and installed in the 1960s, which replaced Victorian glass damaged during the Second World War. In the south ambulatory Mr Monkey found an enormous semicircular chest built specially to store ceremonial copes (ornate cloaks).
