Mr Monkey at the Kew Bridge Steam Museum, 2nd November

"It's a rather confusing thing to look at, you know"

Mr Monkey finished his visit to the Kew Bridge Steam Museum by finding another engine house. He went into it to find the Grand Junction 90 inch engine. When this was built in 1846 it was the largest waterworks engine in the world and was the first engine to be built in Cornwall specially for a waterworks. After its plunger was made larger in 1863 the engine could pump 7½ million gallons of water a day. Mr Monkey wasn't surprised to find that it was too big to fit into his photos properly.
