Mr Monkey at the Musical Museum, 2nd November

"It looks large, but they did fit a whole orchestra in to it"

Mr Monkey admired the 1899 Imhof and Muckle Orchestrion, intended to recreate the sound of a small orchestra, which stayed in their show room on New Oxford Street until 1966. It's driven by an original 110 volt electric motor, one of the oldest working electric motors in the world. Leaving the first gallery Mr Monkey peered into recreated music shop windows to see smaller items in the collection.
