Mr Monkey made sure to have a good look at the statue of St John Nepomuk. John of Nepomuk, vicar-general of the Archbishop of Prague, annoyed King Wenceslas IV so much that the king had him thrown off the bridge. The 1683 statue has a bronze relief on its plinth showing John bring hurled into the Vltava, and for some reason it's considered to be very lucky to touch it.
