Mr Monkey in London, 12th January

"You never can tell with spiders"

It was quite dark when Mr Monkey left Tate Modern. He wasn't surprised to see St Paul's cathedral across the Thames from him, but he was a little taken aback to see a giant spider. When he got closer he thought it looked familiar and realised that it was Louise Bourgeois's Maman and that last time he'd seen it it was threatening James Ensor's grave in Ostende as part of the Beaufort 2006 open air art festival.
