Mr Monkey at Left Coast Crime 2007, 2nd February

"It's all very interesting, you know"

Mr Monkey at the Technology and Mystery Fiction panel Mr Monkey watching the Merry Band of Murderers singing Long Black Veil

Friday
Mr Monkey spent the whole day in panels at Left Coast Crime. Before lunch he saw Leslie Adkins, Brian Wiprud, Mark Richard Zubro, Caro Soles and Fred Ramsey examining the amateur sleuth realistically, Bill Moody talking about his Evan Horne series, and Dana Stabenow, Christine Kling, Deni Dietz, John Daniel and Larry Karp making up a slightly incoherent story on the spot. After lunch he wandered around the dealer's room helping his humans buy books, watched some of the Merry Band of Murderers singing Long Black Veil from the CD that comes with their book, then saw Dana Stabenow, Peter Spiegelman, Philip Hawley Jr, Joan Del Monte and Robert Weibezahl wondering if villains changed while heroes stayed the same. Finally he went to a panel where Mark Coggins, Keith Raffel, Murdoch Hughes and Donna Andrews discussed how technology has changed crime fiction. Then he went for a little rest.
