Mr Monkey ran up and down Great Scotland Yard, but he didn't see any more of the police, because their only buildings on the street are the stables at number 7. The police headquarters were actually on Whitehall, but the public had to use a side entrance on Great Scotland Yard, so everyone got used to calling the place Scotland Yard. Apart from the police stables, the buildings are now the Ministry of Defence library.
