Mr Monkey sees First Love at the Royal Exchange Theatre, 14th November
Before he went to see Beautiful Thing, Mr Monkey scurried upstairs to the Royal Exchange Mezzanine to see First Love.
First Love is a collection of rather touching photographs taken by Dawn Kilner, forming a shapshot of Manchester's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in 2011. Inspired by Beautiful Thing Dawn set out to show young love, and Mr Monkey thinks she's done it rather well. Most of the pictures are quite tender, focussing on a couple, perhaps in a crowd or perhaps alone, and Mr Monkey was impressed with the lack of artificiality shown.
