Mr Monkey sees Sense of Place at the Royal Exchange Theatre, 4th July

Sense of Place is an exhibition of pieces created by Michael Morrell as part of a project for his Illustration with Animation course at Manchester School of Art. He spent five weeks at the Royal Exchange Theatre, making detailed drawings of the interior and exterior. Some are coloured with gouache or coloured pencils, but most are in plain black on white.

Mr Monkey admired the detail in the pictures, and spent some time trying to work out where Michael had been sitting when he was sketching. Mr Monkey ever-so-slightly prefered the coloured pictures, but enjoyed all the architectural views in this interesting exhibition.

Sense of Place runs until August 6th 2011.
