Mr Monkey looking at Princess Parkway, Hulme, Manchester, 6 January 1979 by Kevin Cummins

Before watching Blindsided, Mr Monkey scampered upstairs to the Royal Exchange Mezzanine to see Manchester Reigns.

Mr Monkey looking at Ian Curtis Hulme, Manchester, 6 January 1979 by Kevin Cummins Manchester Reigns is an exhibition of photographs by Kevin Cummins from the late 1970s to the late 1990s, chosen to match the time-scale of Blindsided.

As Kevin Cummins sort of created the modern black and white Manchester/Factory Records photographic style some of these pictures are familiar, especially the band pictures.

Mr Monkey was pleased to see some landscapes as well as portraits, and wondered how early Mr Cummins got up to find Princess Parkway totally car-less.

This is a small but excellent exhibition, with a good mix of familiar and unfamiliar pictures.

Manchester Reigns runs until 22nd February 2014.
