After he'd seen the Lee Mingwei exhibitions at the Chinese Arts Centre, Mr Monkey went to the staircase to inspect the First Step Showcase installation by Jennifer Yang.
Jennifer Yang graduated from Central St Martins with a Textiles MA in 2012.
For this First Step showcase she has installed a number of pieces from her origami Kaleidoscope collection, which she has been working on for several years.
At first sight Mr Monkey wasn't totally convinced by the idea of a static, paper kaleidoscope, being used to ones that need turning and peering through.
Once he'd scampered up and down the stairs he realised that the shapes and colours change with the movement of the viewer, in a rather effective way.
This First Step Showcase runs until September 14th 2013.
