Mr Monkey in the Domein Raversijde, August 27th

"That's a lot of bolts"

Mr Monkey scampered into the gun emplacement. In 1915, there would have been a Krupp 15cm S.K. L/40 naval cannon here, able to fire a shell up to 18,700 metres (which is about as far as you can see out to sea). Each gun weighed 40 tons including its armour and was held down by all the bolts in the floor of the emplacement. Mr Monkey investigated the emplacement and found the small circular opening from which ammunition was passed from the stores to the gun crews.
