Mr Monkey visits York Castle Museum, August 12th

"What happened to the lights?"

Mr Monkey in a very dark street Mr Monkey in a dark candle-making factory

When Mr Monkey got down to Kirkgate, he was surprised to find that it was too dark to see anything. He scurried around quite carefully, but all he could really see was the lights in the galleries he'd just been in, and a very dimly lit candle factory. Kirkgate is apparently the oldest recreated street in any museum, and was named after Dr Kirk who founded the collection the York Castle Museum is based on.
