Mr Monkey walks the rest of York's walls, August 11th

"I don't think this is even a real tower"

Mr Monkey went across Skeldergate Bridge, then across Skeldergate to a tiny tower which is nothing more than an elaborate entrance to a set of steps climbing up Baile Hill. William the Conqueror built this hill so he'd have somewhere to build a second wooden castle, to make a pair with the castle that is now Clifford's tower.
