Mr Monkey visited the buttery and the pantry, which were notable for being rather dark. The barrels in the buttery were made by the Theakston Brewery, who also sponsor Mr Monkey's favourite Harrogate-based crime writing festival. When he'd found that the barrels were empty, he ran upstairs.
