Mr Monkey visits Barley Hall, August 11th

"I hope this isn't the best room"

The first room Mr Monkey investigated was just a store room, full of medieval bric-a-brac. When the York Archaeological Trust bought the building in 1987, they had it restored to appear as it would have been in the late 15th century when Alderman Snawsell, a goldsmith, was living there. Mr Monkey was pleased to find that all the medieval things had been made specially, and that he was allowed to play with them.

You can read about the hall at the Barley Hall website.
