Mr Monkey at Scarborough Castle, August 10th

"It's a little flat for a signal station"

Mr Monkey scurried across the headland to the Roman signal station, which had obviously got a bit knocked down since the late 4th century. Mr Monkey wondered whether it had been built by Count Theodosius on the orders of the emperor Valentinian, or by Magnus Maximus who was pretending to be emperor. Then he turned round and realised how far he had to trudge back to the medieval bits of the castle.
