Mr Monkey walks York's walls, August 9th

"It's a very tree-based view, you know"

Mr Monkey left Bootham Bar, and scurried along towards the north west corner of medieval York. The walkway seemed quite narrow, possibly because it was surrounded by tall trees. When this stretch of wall was opened for public use there were complaints that it was an invasion of privacy, and Mr Monkey suspects many of the trees were planted to prevent people on the wall seeing into back gardens. Mr Monkey did get another glimpse of the Minster on the way, though.
