The 2006 Harrogate Crime Writing Festival was held at the Old Swan Hotel, and Mr Monkey got used to the sight of the swan looking at the car park over the weekend. In 1926, when the Old Swan was called the Swan Hydro, Agatha Christie pretended to be someone else here while the police scoured the country for her.
