Mr Monkey in Chester, May 27th

"I'm not sure it looks like a monkey to me"

Mr Monkey with a Hiroshige print Mr Monkey in front of a model of Roman Chester

Mr Monkey scampered through the streets of Chester until he arrived at the Grosvenor Museum. He visited a temporary exhibition showing all 55 prints in Hiroshige's Tokaido Road from 1833. He was interested to see that one station was called Monkey Shoulder Slope. Then he set off to explore the rest of the museum, starting by looking at a model of Roman Chester, or Deva, or Dewa.

You can read about the Grosvenor Museum at the Chester council website.
