Saturday:
Mr Monkey left his hotel, and set off into town. He quickly came to Watergate Street, where he decided to look at the Rows from street level. He admired the mix of builidngs, and the inscriptions on some of the black and white ones. The builders of Chester seem to go in for jolly slogans such as In The Lord Is My Strength and Fear Of The Lord Is A Fountain Of Life and God's Providence Is Mine Inheritance. The last one is on the front of a building which was allegedly the only house in Chester not struck by plague in the 17th century.
