Mr Monkey in London, April 6th

"Let's have a historical lunch"

Mr Monkey's humans were demanding food again. Mr Monkey nipped into a courtyard off Borough High Street, where he found the George Inn. This version of the George was built around 1676 to replace a building destroyed when Southwark burned down, and is the last galleried inn left in London. Mr Monkey had a quick meal and a drink, scampered upstairs to inspect the first floor gallery, then ran off to catch a train home to Stockport.

You can read about the inn at the Traditional and Historic London Pub Guide website.
