Mr Monkey in Bristol, March 15th

"Apparently they had a thriving trade with Wales"

Mr Monkey looking along Welsh Back Mr Monkey looking at the Bristol Merchant Navy Association monument

Crossing a road, Mr Monkey came to Welsh Back. This is part of the original port of Bristol, before the building of the locks introduced the concept of floating to Bristol harbour. A little bit down the street he examined the monument put up by the Merchant Navy Association, which looks a bit like a capstan and is a tribute to anyone who has ever sailed from Bristol.

You can read about the company at the Merchant Navy Association website.
