Mr Monkey visits Clifton Suspension Bridge

"Let's see what it looks like from the other side"

Mr Monkey looking along the Avon Gorge Mr Monkey looking across the Avon Gorge

Mr Monkey crossed the road, and walked around the base of the pier. He looked north along the Avon Gorge, then decided he should scamper 702 feet to the other end of the bridge. He noticed a plaque fixed to the pier explaining that the bridge had been started in 1836, run out of money in 1843, and been finished in 1864. Mr Monkey thought it was a shame that Brunel had died in 1859, and had never seen his first major commission finished.
