Mr Monkey in Stockholm, August 14th

"I suspect they have a lot of old buildings here"

After leaving Steninge palace, Mr Monkey went to the nearby town of Sigtuna. This is the oldest town in all of Sweden, founded in 980 by King Eric Segersäll. Many of the buildings date from the 17th century, but the town has largely kept its original Viking street layout. Mr Monkey looked across the Stora Torget at the town hall, built in 1744, and at the other fine buildings around the square.
