Seeing that the entrance hall of the palace was filled up with people being guided around in Swedish, Mr Monkey ran past it, and went down to the reed beds on the shore of Lake Mälaren. The building of the palace was largely financed by Carl Gyllenstierna's close relationship with the queen dowager Hedvig Eleonara, one wing of the house being put up specially for her. The palace was used as party venue, with many guests arriving by boat across Lake Mälaren. Mr Monkey looked out across the lake from the landing jetty, but didn't see any partying royalty.
