Mr Monkey at the Gothenburg Maritime Centre

"You have to be really careful you get the right sort of fire-based thing"

Mr Monkey below decks on the lightship Mr Monkey looking at the fire float

Below decks on the lightship, Mr Monkey examined the chains that presumably held the ship in place. Then he left the lightship, and went to have a look at Flodsprutan II. This is a fire-float, which is completely different from a fireship, in that the fireship is set on fire and left to drift close to an enemy fleet to set them aflame, while a fire-float is used for putting fires out. Mr Monkey wasn't sure he fully approved of either, as they both involve too much fire and water, but he bravely boarded the fire-float.

You can read a little about fireships at the National Maritme Museum.
