Mr Monkey at the Gothenburg Maritime Centre

"It's not been treated well, you know"

Mr Monkey boarding the monitor Sölve Mr Monkey inside the monitor Sölve

Mr Monkey went to investigate the monitor Sölve. This is the only preserved monitor in the world. Mr Monkey quickly spotted that bad things had happened to it when he noticed that it hadn't got any turrets or superstructure at all. These had been removed in 1921, along with most of the monitor's insides, when it was turned into a tank barge to transport oil. Luckily, there was a nice model inside the Sölve to show what it should look like. Mr Monkey was quite surprised to find out that the gun was fixed in place, and was aimed by moving the whole ship.
