"It's pretty magnificent even now"

Mr Monkey admired the Hall of the Nobility. Of course it used to be more richly decorated, when it was used as a waiting room for people seeking a royal audience, and for royal feasts. Danish feasts included so much dancing that some people died of it, and in 1586 dancing before the eating was over was outlawed, because of women jumping on the food. When the castle was a prison, this was the chapel, and after the war it was the dining room for 2000 concentration camp survivors.
