In the car park, Mr Monkey looked up at the Wallace Monument, which was further away than he'd expected, and at the more recent statue of Mel Gibson William Wallace, which was too close for comfort. Luckily, there's a free bus service up the steep and winding road to the actual monument. When he got out of the bus, Mr Monkey realised that the monument was actually a small Victorian castle.
You can read about William Wallace at the BBC History website.
