As Mr Monkey carried on walking down towards the river, he took a detour to St. Mary Axe to see number 30, the Swiss Re tower. Apparently mistaken for a gherkin by many people, this is a cunningly energy efficient building which seems to be visible from everywhere in London (except the street next to it). Unfortunately, some of the sophisticated glass panels have fallen off, which is a shame.
There are full details of the Gherkin at the 30 St Mary Axe website.
