Mr Monkey was in search of the Wigmore Galleries and the American collection, and he had to go through the Egyptian galleries to get there. He was rather surprised to find a small temple from Egypt, with an indoor pond in front of it. This is the Temple of Dendur, which was given to the United States in 1965, passed on to the Met in 1967, and installed in this special gallery in 1978.
