On Park Avenue Mr Monkey tried to visit the Seventh Regiment Armory. This is where the New York Seventh Regiment, known as the silk stocking regiment, trained on days when they weren't protecting rich New Yorkers from poor New Yorkers. Mr Monkey wanted to see the room designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the Armory, but the army still use it and wouldn't let him in. They were very polite about it, though. Mr Monkey carried on towards Central Park up 67th street, where he admired the houses.
You can read all about the Seventh Regiment Armory at the New York City Architecture website.
