A lot of the action in The Deadhouse by Linda Fairstein, which Mr Monkey read a couple of weeks before his New York trip, takes place on Roosevelt Island. Mr Monkey thought it sounded an interesting place to visit, so he took the F train to the Roosevelt Island station for a morning in the middle of the East River.
