Mr Monkey visits SuperCity at Urbis

"I suspect we're supposed to be beside the seaside"

To make Liverpool* more interesting, Mr Alsop has planned Pier, a one kilometre long collection of entertainment and education areas, with a railway running from end to end. As it's a pier, it's meant to go into the sea, an estuary, or a large river. On the model, the arrows indicate a hole for visitors to put their heads through, to see the inside of Pier.

You can read about Mr Alsop's last attempt to do things to Liverpool at the Guardian website.

*Or possibly Hull. Or both.
