Mr Monkey visits Fort York

"It's really a very pale blue, you know."

Mr Monkey inside the Blue Barracks Mr Monkey looking at the 1814 East Magazine

The junior officers used to live in the Blue Barracks. There are some original features, but this is mostly a modern reconstruction, housing an exhibition about naval warfare on Lake Ontario. The East Magazine was originally intended to store gunpowder, but they realised the brick walls wouldn't be strong enough to support the roof, and turned it into a storehouse instead. Inside it, Mr Monkey saw exhibitions about archaeology and about coloured and First Nation people in the British Army in Canada.
