Mr Monkey quickly found himself outside the rather imposing main entrance to the Victoria and Albert Museum. It took ten years - from 1899 to 1909 - to build this; before that most of the collection was kept in a very large corrugated iron shed, painted with green and white stripes (the painting was Prince Albert's idea).
