Mr Monkey crept past the tollhouse, which used to be part of Thomas Telfords London-Holyhead road, quietly, without paying. A bit along the track he found a corrugated iron building that turned out to be a church, dating from 1888, which used to be six miles away until 1973. You used to be able to buy these churches by post, from Harrods.
