On board the Unicorn, Mr Monkey investigated the cannon on the gun deck, and went right down to the bottom of the ship to the carpenter's walk. He could hear the water above him, because the carpenter's walk is below the waterline, and allows the carpenter to fix dangerous holes in the ship.
